Workshops in France

Courses in France - 2011

I will be offering 2 fully residential embroidery course in Brittany, France, during 2011.

The first course - Silk Ribbon Garland - will run from 1st May to 6th May. Students will complete their design, learning as many different stitch combinations as possible, enabling them to work on their own designs at home afterwards. The course includes a full kit supplied.

From 18th Sept to 23th Sept, I will be running a stumpwork course - Branching Out. Alternatively students may complete a small stumpwork piece of insects and small woodland creatures. Once again a full kit is supplied and students will cover as many of the basic elements (and more!) of stumpwork as possible.

Catherine Donoghue and I will be offering the courses at her bed and breakfast, which she runs in Brittany. She and her husband, Sam, provide superb accommodation and full board in a truly beautiful setting. Le Moulin de Luhan - www.lemoulindeluhan.com - is situated near Rennes airport so for those flying in, a pick up will be organised from the airport on the Sunday. We will have a welcome dinner that evening and a get together to discuss the course layout. The course will run from Monday to Thursday inclusive, with a break on Wednesday morning, when we will fit in a visit to the local market, which sells all sorts of local produce, as well as gifts and crafts.

On Friday after breakfast, participants will once again be taken either to the airport or if necessary to the ferry or train station.

Should you be interested in booking, or require further details, please contact Lorna on: +44(0) 1420 562793. I am very excited about this new venture and will be pleased to answer any queries! I am working away at my French too!
