Threads available to order online! 13 August 2009
At last I can say that we now have the full range of Chameleon threads up on our site allowing you to order.  The range comprises Perle No: 8 threads, handanger range of Perle No:8 & 12, Au ver a Soie de Paris and Au ver a Soie de Alger and an extensive range of stranded cottons.  I will also be stocking her range of hand-dyed counted thread fabrics.
All the threads are hand-dyed by Via Laurie in South Africa, using a DMC base thread  and French imported silk threads.  She is the author of the book,  Creative embroidery with space-dyed threads,  soon to be re-printed due to popular demand.
At the moment we arecurrently working on putting up a fabulous range of hand-dyed silk ribbons imported from the USA.  River Silks is a quality product suitable for both hand embroidery as well as canvas work, due to its close weave and therefore hardy properties.  It encompasses an extremely broad range of colours allowing for beautiful and subtle shading.  If you wish to see what it looks like in the meantime you can visit: www.riversilks.com
In the meantime I am working on a variety of embroidery designs and will have a number of new kits available over the next few months.  I am currently working on a sampler which will include crewel stitches, silk ribbon embroidery, stumpwork and a bit of beading incorporated into the stitches.  It will be available as a P&P design with a full set of instructions.  Also in the pipeline are new simple silk ribbon designs for beginners, a small beaded range and some dragonfly designs.
I will be at the Lace Fair in Coventry in Dec as well as the ICHF shows in Galscow and Birmingham in March (see shows on my website), when hopefully all these will be on display and available as kits for sale.
Dare I say, autumn is fast approaching, so soon we will be huddled up again indoors and stitching away, much more difficult when the sun and garden beckon in summer.  So... enjoy stitching.
Best wishes
Lorna
PS There are still spaces available on our first workshop to be held in France - do check out the website for details and costs - it will be a lovely getaway for those who need a stitching break!
